Notes from the racks
I’m Hop Bui. I am TB Shrimp. Farm The Brother Journey — water, grading, expansions, and life across my two Vietnam farms.
Learn from the farm
I started with Crystal Red and Blue Bolt in Australia in 2016. Today I run two farms in Vietnam (Vũng Tàu and nearby) — 116 racks. This site is my journey.
The Brother Journey
The first few racks — a bedroom in Vietnam
Where TB Shrimp started to take form. Expensive stock. Taiwan set the pace. Learning by watching.
Into the 40ft container
From 4 small racks to 15 racks (9 tanks each) inside a 40ft container — shrimp got their own building.
New room — 35 racks
Mid 2020 — from bare ground to a fully stocked 35-rack room.
Breeding setup & ratios
Breed vs grow-out — and about 5–6 males for 50 females.
Thin soil method
Cycle faster, breed faster — why I run a thin ADA soil layer.
How I grade Caridina
Pattern, coverage, consistency — culls as information.
Keeper vs project stock
Keepers hold the line. Projects explore. Culls protect both.
Soft reset
Around six months: add soil, full water change, clean the sponge.
Caridina water parameters
Stability over perfection — what I watch on the farm.
Life on the racks
